If you happen to be looking at this immediately after it went online, I am most likely currently unconscious - sedated - with my foot freshly sliced into and screws inserted into my fifth metatarsal.
Yes, that’s right. When I went to my first check yesterday up after injuring my foot two weeks ago (see 328 - Red Rubber Ball from Hell for more info), instead of being told things are fine, as I was expecting, especially since my foot is feeling much better, I was helpfully informed that after wearing an obnoxious boot for two weeks and generally stomping around, my fracture is separating, not healing, so lucky me, I have to have the bones screwed together and the sooner the better and just my luck there’s an opening tomorrow, aka right now.
So here I am, unconscious with screws in my foot.
Ah for the good old days. Doctors would suggest that it's a minor bone, and it would just take care of itself. And after that, we'd get into a cast; now they are a thing of the past, replaced by a Boot. As you can see, I don't practice medicine. Take care of your injuries, and sorry you're missing (other) life events.
