I recognized that screen shot from that horrifying movie. Truly scary, but in fairness, I was about 7 or 8 when I saw it for the first time. The soundscape of the film was every bit part of the cast. I've since seen it, and it hasn't lost any of the horror. Julie Harris played it so neurotically well.

I agree, it's an amazingly effective scene with the weird voices. You can't quite make out what they're saying and that makes it even worse.

100%. The expression on Christie's face also is terrifying; she is all of us trying to make sense of what's happening.
