310 - String 'em Up, Icy Blue
Pareidolia
This piece was originally titled Pareidolia, which is the propensity to discern faces in random patterns on walls, ceilings or other surfaces. The best example of this is this still from the 1963 version of The Haunting of Hill House:
However, last night I woke up in the dark with the line "String ‘em up, icy blue,” or possibly “I see blue” fresh in my mind from a dream I’ve no recollection of. I was confused as to what it meant but thought it would make a better title for todays tune, so here it is.
I think I know what it means now.

I recognized that screen shot from that horrifying movie. Truly scary, but in fairness, I was about 7 or 8 when I saw it for the first time. The soundscape of the film was every bit part of the cast. I've since seen it, and it hasn't lost any of the horror. Julie Harris played it so neurotically well.
