I actually had a different piece in Bb minor I was going to post today, but I set it for full piano in the program Finale thinking for sure I could export a copy via XML (a file exchange format for notation programs, one ABC supports) and ABC would open it, something I’ve done several tines before, but no such luck. ABC wouldn’t cooperate, so growing weary of messing with it I decided it was time for a repost of an older tune. I’ll try again tomorrow.
I really can’t explain or justify the title of this piece from 2012, other than to say at the time I composed it I was often tossing the first random title that came to mind on them. Had I known then I would eventually be sharing all these online I might not’ve been so cavalier about some of the absurd titles, but I was and I’m not going to change them now.
For a few years I worked on and off on a set of 24 preludes / etudes for mandolin solo in all 24 major and minor keys, plus one atonal prelude. I finished about half of them. This piece became the prelude in C#minor. If you play mandolin and want a challenge give it a shot. The same goes for violin. If any cellists or violists want to give it a shot drop me a note and I’ll send you a PDF with the proper range and clef.
Really enjoyed today's music. Thank you.
I've been an early adopter of ABC, but it does odd things to me when I need its help the most.
