There must’ve been one brief but crazy storm here early this morning - an unexpected one at that - as the weather forecast here has been unchanging cloudless heat for some time now, because there were several huge tree branches in our front yard this morning.

Silver Maples are known for splitting easily like this, but it still takes high winds or an ice storm to break them off the tree.
