342 - The Pedometer
I have this old vintage New Haven pedometer. The way it works is you attach it to your pants pocket and as you move around a weight inside swings back and forth, incrementing the hands. It’ll log up to 100 miles but who these days takes 100 mile walks? Not me. On the inside is a setting to match your strides so it’s pretty accurate.
Just for grins I attached it to my sweat pants today to see how much I move around the house with this boot on (sorry to keep harping on my injured foot).
When I checked at the end of the day I was surprised to see I’d dragged my foot around for two miles. I wouldn’t have thought it possible to move two miles when you’re basically staying inside, sitting on your duff with your leg up trying to stay off your feet as much as possible, but that’s what it said.
