306 - The "Wow!" Signal
The “Wow!” signal was a 72 second signal detected in 1977 by Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio telescope. It was so unusual when astronomer Jerry R. Ehman saw it on the printout he circled it and added “Wow!” which then becomes it’s widely used name.
Often speculated to originate from some kind of extra terrestrial civilization, it’s never been heard from since and some think it might’ve been from a hydrogen cloud accompanying a comet.
