213 - Suicide by Fruit
We have a couple of peach trees. They seem determined to kill themselves. They produce so much fruit, way in excess of what we can use, that, one of them looks like Moe Howard with all it’s branches bent and touching the ground, but still intact, and the other has broken itself to smithereens due to the weight of all the fruit, this despite multiple sessions of knocking excess peaches off both of them.
I hope they survive but I’m really concerned one of them might not have enough branches left to come back next spring.
You’d think they’d know better deep in whatever passes for a brain in trees.
Also, I’m genuinely wondering if the post will go up or if it’ll be censored due to the title. I’ve noticed a disturbing trend these days where words used to label select unfortunate events, such as suicide, or rape, are being bowdlerized with asterisks, or struck thru entirely. I don’t get this. The words aren’t considered profane so why does anybody need to be protected from them?
