We have an exceedingly high strung / impulsive dog, Eugene:
It’s a constant battle getting him to walk properly beside me on a leash. I don’t let dogs walk ahead or pull me off the sidewalk when I’m walking them, and I think those leashes with reels that allow dogs to do as they please when being walked are awful and a splendid way to teach a dog how to misbehave.
But I digress.
Eugene just doesn’t give up so it’s taking extra patience with him.
What we’ve found works best is to make him walk behind us while blocking him from catching up or getting between us. Unfortunately it’s uncomfortable walking with an arm extended behind like that for any duration.
We took him for a walk today and I pretty much had to do that the entire time.
Yes it is.
It was my foot, actually, my 5th metatarsal.
Is this the same pet who broke your leg or ankle on the stairs?
