131 - The Reunion Waltz
In September of 2012 I attended my *ahem* 40th high school reunion. Yes, I graduated high school in 1972. Van Horn high school in Independence Missouri (at that time part of the Kansas City public school system for reasons too obtuse to go into here [Now it’s part of the Independence school district]). I was part of a huge graduating class - so big it took the RLDS auditorium to host it.
The highlight of the graduation ceremonies was when Igor Greer (yes, you couldn’t make up a name like that) burned his diploma on stage after receiving it. (if any of you VH alumni happen to have a picture of that, or of Igor for that matter, pass it along to me and I’ll post it here).
Anyway, the reunion was both Friday and Saturday. Each evening I composed a “reunion” waltz. Technically this was the 2nd one and the original title was The Reunion Waltz #2 but since the first one isn’t all that worthwhile, I dropped the number and am only posting this one.
The next year in 2013 I used this music for the credits and fragments of it for other parts of the low budget but surprisingly fun short movie by Hannah Radcliff, Fishbone.
