124 - Shine On

If you’ve followed this blog for very long you’ve probably noticed that although nearly all these pieces are unabashedly tonal, I frequently stray outside the standard major (ionian) & minor (aeolian) modes, and occasionally alter existing modes, creating hybrids, as has happened here with the addition of a Bb to a D lydian key signature.

Although this piece is from 2022 the original didn’t contain any 2nd voices and the Bb’s were added as accidentals and not in the key signature. I added these changes before posting it.

I’m unsure of the title. There may have been a particularly bright moon that evening.
