119 - Strathspey #1
Decades ago I played mandolin and tenor banjo in a Celtic dance band, The Strathspey Cats, a name that played off of another band popular at that time, The Stray Cats.
Most of what we played wasn’t strathspeys, but I alway found those the most interesting. When I started doing this in 2012 I tried my hand at a few - four to be precise - with varying degrees of success. This is the first one.
It should probably have a proper name but at that time I wasn’t thinking anybody would see these besides myself, so it’s just Strathspey #1.
Note, also at that time I was using default AMC accompaniments and didn’t know I could set a ratio for dotted notes to turn them into triplets, so in the interest of having better playback, I fixed both of those for the audio file.
