080 - Riding the Spiral Staircase Jig
In case you may be wondering why I used seven flats here, if you missed it earlier, I have a system whereby I visit all 24 major and minor modes before starting over again. By major I mean ionian, mixolydian and lydian, and by minor aeolian, dorian and Phrygian (so far I’ve left locrean alone). It just so happened that today’s key was Ab minor. Tomorrow will be C major.
If you like playing these but find some of the keys vexing, one of the perks of a paid subscription is I will provide transcriptions of any of these into any key, and provide transposed parts in the event someone wants to play clarinet or saxophone or whatever instrument along with an accompaniment.
