073 - The Tilted Clock
I like mechanical clocks with springs, gears and pendulums that actually serve a purpose and aren’t for show. I’ll admit batteries are way more convenient but there’s something about having to wind it regularly and keep it regulated that makes the experience akin to playing a vinyl record instead of streaming from Spotify.
I had to remove the clock we had on the wall in our dining room to hang the R. Crumb print referenced in 047 - Rolling Around, It’s been sitting in our hallway slightly tilted (because it has a pointy bottom so can’t stand upright) with the regulator door open and the pendulum spilling out, looking kind of like a disemboweled soldier, ever since we got that print, mostly because there isn't really another good spot to hang it.
