069 - Dirge #2

for Oboe and Harp

Yes, there’s a Dirge #1, and even a Dirge #3, and they’re not half bad, but if I’m only going to post one, it’ll be this one. Perhaps I’ll post the other two at a future date.

This really wasn’t intended for oboe and harp, but that’s the way I voiced it, using an experimental accompaniment programming to ape block rolled harp chords. It worked about as well as can be expected from such a crude accompaniment feature as is used by ABC.

If I was allowing myself to edit these older tunes there are several changes I would make here here, the first one being to take out the 2nd repeat, but I consider changing older music when posting in this format to be aesthetically dishonest, so here’s the dirge, warts & all.
