After perusing some of these tunes Iona (my daughter) asked me “Dad, why do you use such weird chords?”
I replied “What do you mean weird?”
The beginning of the B section started out as a quotation from Mozart’s A major sonata, the one that ends with the Turkish Rondo, but it was too obvious so I obscured it somewhat with the D#.
We need this. Our ears must adjust to modern orchestration. After some repetition, it becomes familiar.
