047 - The Distractor
Normally the way these daily tunes are created is I sit down at some point fairly late in the evening, typically between 10 and 11PM, and write them down in one sitting, which usually takes about ten minutes. Then I’ll check them at the piano, possibly making a few corrections, then I set them in ABC. The next day, before posting here I’ll sometimes take a few minutes to add any finishing touches that might occur to me.
Last night I was watching a movie and realized if I waited until it ended I wouldn’t get the ink rough finished before midnight, so instead of pausing I decided to try “multitasking,” so wrote the tune while watching, hence the title.
