047 - A Belated Valenting
Actually this piece was composed on Valentines Day while we watched a bit of the K.C. Chiefs victory parade on television. This was before the shooting started.
Actually we didn’t learn the Chief’s fans had turned into targets for losers with grudges until later that evening when we were sitting in the restaurant having dinner after the movie we saw that afternoon.
It’s only belated because you’re seeing it a few days after Valentines day.

I had a close call yesterday returning from the hospital from across town. Two bad guys crowded in on me so close, they were touching me. When I tried to see who they were, I was ordered to return to my phone, and ignore them. I took a chance and argued gently. "If you take half a step away, perhaps I will consider your advice." They were typical organized crime people. Not friends to each other, probably both armed. One had a very full backpack, the other had a moderate shopping bag. They didn't acquiesce, but did stop pressing against me.
