006 - Music for a Deserted City
From 2012. This was one of my earliest Tuna Day experiments in altered modes. The scale is a combination of Lydian and Mixolydian. There’s actually a name for this mode but I’m too lazy to look it up.
This piece was transcribed for both string and mandolin orchestra in the collection “12 Pieces for (String Orchestra) (Mandolin Orchestra).”
I had some fun throwing in a simple “left hand” part with this. Unfortunately, when I exported the file into a PDF for some asinine reason easyABC decided to randomly break one of the eight measure lines into two four measure lines, causing the document to be two pages long, which doesn’t work with this format, so todays post is a screen grab directly from easyABC.
