004 - Bureaucracy

I’ve been retired for some time now but decided to take a temporary short-term job in the field I retired from - education.

The contrast between when I was hired at the beginning of my “career” and these last few weeks couldn’t be greater. The first time I went in, interviewed, and that was pretty much it.

Now it’s a bureaucratic labyrinth of zoom meetings, watching online videos, training for work I already know, and a bevy of other time wasting activities that I have to pay for myself.

Same job, different decade.
